And limits on screen time went out the proverbial window while on a plane. Whether you want to forward-face or rear-face on the plane is your decision. If there is a survivable airline incident, your child is safer rear-facing. But the chance of an incident are so low your child is safer completely unrestrained on the plane than properly strapped into her properly installed car seat in the car your relatives are driving to your destination. I suggest you have a way to get both the car seat and your child through the airport without having to carry either in your arms.
